Gray Fellowship Program

Gray Fellowship applications will open in January 2025 Fellowships are available to students interested in careers in multi-media journalism, producing, and meteorology.

As a Gray Fellow, you will be assigned a mentor and work in one of our selected newsrooms for 8 weeks. Fellows are paid a salary and housing allowance.
Gray strives to offer this opportunity to a diverse group of students. You must be at least 18 years old, at least 3 months or less away graduation, have a valid driver’s license and be insurable per Gray’s standards.

Mentees are paired with a member of our expert team of News Directors for customized training.

Gray’s Media Training Center Improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in media...

Preparing the next generation... This revolutionary media training program prepares students for today's unique operating environment, while simultaneously improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in media. The Center educates and trains students who attend Mississippi colleges and universities, with a focus on Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the state, namely Jackson State, Alcorn State, Mississippi Valley State, Rust College and Tougaloo College. Learn about the media industry... Students who are selected to participate in the Center's programs learn today's best practices for broadcast and digital journalism. The 14-week program includes hands-on training in production, sales, operations, IT, engineering, coding and marketing. Training Center fellows create a weekly public affairs show entirely shot, edited, produced, directed and hosted by students. Apply today
